Wooden Bowl Care and Cleaning

Hand wash bowls with mild soap and water, then dry off with a towel. Do not place it in the dishwasher or submerge it in water for cleaning. All of my bowls have a food-safe oil finish to bring out the natural beauty of the wood as well as to increase the longevity of the bowl. I recommend that you apply mineral oil or butcher block oil once a month or whenever the bowl looks dry, to maintain the natural beauty of the wood and to help prevent the wood from getting stained.

  • Firstly, before use, shake the finish bottle to homogenize the mixture. Then, using the built-in pipette, apply a few squirts onto a folded paper towel, and rub onto the bowl in sections. The more vigorously you rub, the shinier the finish will be. The finish will be completely dried withing 24-48 hours.

  • Most bowl and cutting board maintenance products consist of non-curing oils, which evaporate over time and wash off with water. Wooden bowls need regular maintenance to ensure longevity, as they dry out easily with frequent washes. A dry bowl lets water seep in and stains easily. This product not only penetrates the wood and cures within but also seals the grain in a very thin application. The ingredients are completely food-safe after curing, and regular application can maximize your bowl's lifespan while maintaining a shining luster.
